Swabhimaan was established in 2000 by Venkatraman Iyer and Vijaya Venkat to uplift the disadvantaged communities of Rajendra Nagar in Bangalore which is home to over 15,000 low-income families, including daily wage laborers, domestic helpers, street hawkers, fruit and vegetable vendors, single women, and senior citizens. Venkatraman helps these communities through food distribution drives.
